Top Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps in Central America Q1 2025

In the first quarter of 2025, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Central America showed significant activity, with several apps leading in downloads and active user engagement. According to data from Sensor Tower, notable trends emerged across the top five apps on the unified platform.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads peaking at around 220K in early February. The app consistently drew in over 180K downloads each week across the quarter. The active user base experienced a notable increase, starting at approximately 13.4M and reaching 16.7M by the end of March.

Uber - Request a ride also performed well, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 167K and 199K. Active users grew steadily from 7.3M to about 8.3M, showcasing robust engagement throughout the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides showed a consistent download pattern, averaging around 140K to 160K weekly downloads. The active user count saw an upward trajectory, moving from 2.5M at the start of the quarter to over 3.3M by the end.

DiDi Driver: Drive & Earn Cash experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at 79K and climbing to around 94K by March's conclusion. Active users increased from just under 1M to over 1.1M, indicating growing driver interest.

Finally, Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver witnessed an increase in downloads towards the end of the quarter, rising from 65K to 84K. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 1.2M.
